Maybe a baby is crying. Maybe two kids are fighting over who gets to sit next to you. Maybe someone needs a bathroom break at exactly the wrong moment.
Maybe your children are teenagers or grown, but you are carrying their worries with you. Or maybe your mind is already running through the other thousand things waiting for you in the coming week.
You may hear the words but not quite understand how they connect to Scripture, to our faith, or to the life you are living right now.
There is no judgment here. That is me, too.
I started recording the homilies because I was the mom who missed pieces of them. I wanted to come back later, listen again, and understand what I had missed. Momilies grew from that.
Momilies is a place for all of us to come back to it.
As Catholics, we go to Mass first and foremost to receive Jesus, the Bread of Life. Nothing here is meant to replace that. But we may leave Mass still wanting to understand more, pray more deeply, or talk through what we heard.
That is what Momilies is for.
Here, we return to the Sunday readings and the message of the homily, slow them down, and make space to see what God may be saying to us through Scripture.
We are all still learning.
We are all still growing.
And faith was never meant to be something we figure out alone.
So read the reflection. Sit with the questions. Bring them to your family. Better yet, gather a few women around a table and have the bigger conversation.
Ask questions.
Share what struck you.
Talk about what is difficult.
Notice what God may be doing in someone else’s life.
Momilies is not about having all the answers.
It is about becoming women who keep returning to Jesus, keep learning His Word, and keep helping one another grow in faith.
